Exactly How to Batch Cook and Meal Prep for a Week of Clean Eating.


How to Meal Prep, Batch cooking, Clean eating


Sooo.. Did you know that Your Nutrition is 80% of where your results come from? I know there are some of you that are totally killing it in the gym. Come on, Cardio Queens where you at? I use to be one of you too! You can cardio your little heart out but if you aren't fueling that body with what it needs then you are wasting your time. You will never get the results you want! I know this because that use to be me. I never lifted weights and I would run through fast food after the gym or eat a big hearty cheesy meal. So I really want to teach you how to set your week up for success. 

This is one of the BIGGEST things that I stress and love teaching my customers about. Meal Prepping and Clean Eating. I share my meal plans weekly in my groups and really focus on this. It's a lifestyle not a DIET! That should be what your focus is. Enjoying your favorites here and there but ultimately living a healthy life that you can easily maintain. I know that we all live busy lives so this makes things so much easier. Doing it once every week or even ever two weeks is going to make your life so much easier, keep you on track, and will save you money. OKAY, did I catch your attention now? ha ha ha 

I normally reserve Sunday's for Meal Prepping and Batch cooking. 



Alright so I'm going to teach you step by step how to prepare your week. This is just what I do but you will get a really good idea on how to prep your week so it's simple to just grab and go. 

Here is what you need to go to the grocery store for: 

Several Packs of Chicken Breast 
Lean Ground Turkey
Eggs 
Bag of Fish either Salmon or Tilapia 
You could also do a bag of Frozen Shrimp

You can do Fresh Veggies or Do Frozen. 
I mix it up. 
I normally have 
Fresh Asparagus 
Fresh Brussels Sprouts
Zucchini
Spaghetti Squash
Baby Spinach
-Honestly Just depends on my menu plan for the week on which I choose- 
Then I'll always grab some frozen Green beans, Stir Fry Veggie Mix, and Peas
If you want to do an egg white omelet 
Mushrooms, Peppers, Onions or Egg Muffins.

Apples
Strawberries
Blueberries 

Brown Rice
Quinoa 
Sweet Potatoes

Coconut Oil
Mrs dash Seasonings
Cayenne Pepper
Cumin
Chili Powder
Tin Foil 

How to meal prep for clean eating

1. You want to take a large baking sheet and cover it with tin foil 
This is where you are going to grab your chicken breasts and lay them out on the pan. 
Grab your favorite salt free seasonings and season front then flip and do the other side. 

2. Pre Heat the Oven to 350 and bake for about 30-40 mins until tender. You don't want to over cook. You can use a meat thermometer if you need so you don't over cook it. You want your meat to be nice and juicy.

3. While that is cooking, You are going to grab your brown rice. There are Two Ways you can do this
If you have a rice steamer you can load that baby up according to the directions and your rice will just easily cook on it's on. You can add in some fresh herbs to the steamer and it will be delicious. If you don't have a rice steamer you can do this in a pot on the stove. Follow the directions on the bag for water to rice ratio. You want to make a pretty big batch so you have enough for the week or if you are doing two weeks for two weeks. Let the water boil and then add in your rice once boiled.

4. Remember to keep an eye on those chicken breasts, you even may have to suction out some of the juice so it doesn't overflow in to your oven. 

5. It's time to grab another big deep pan and get all of your ground turkey. Toss it into the pan and cook until browned. You can season again with any non salt seasonings. Once done drain out any grease. 

6. Last but not least you have your Sweet Potatoes. You want to scrub these and wash really well. Grab a baking sheet and throw them on and in the oven. These will take a bit of time. Probably about an hour to cook. Just keep an eye and poke holes. Once tender all the way through they will be done.

This is what our chicken and sweet potatoes will look like when they are all done. Right when you grab your sweet potatoes out of the oven slice them down the middle so they can cool down. Your rice should be finishing up too. But be sure to put your rice on at the beginning because it does take some time to cook. 

7. Once everything cools down it's time to portion it all out and bag it up so you can grab and go. 
Grab your chicken breasts and slice it all up in to bite sized peaces. Grab a cutting bored and get to town. You will have a big bowl of sliced up chicken chunks. that you can just portion out and put in baggies. I use the 21 Day Fix Menu plan in all of my challenge groups and this program comes with portion control containers. This is what I use to portion out my food. So you are going to grab your red container and just start scoop out of your chicken and ground turkey and bagging up each individual portion. That's your protein for the week. If you are doing two weeks you can freeze the other week and then thaw out at the end of week 1. 

After your sweet potatoes cool down you will scoop the filling out of the skins and use your yellow container to portion and baggy up. Grab your brown rice and portion out with your yellow container as well and baggy. These are your healthy crabs for the week. 

Veggies are in the freezer ready to just grab and you will use your green to portion that out.

Place all your baggies in plastic containers so you can just grab. I baggy all of my chicken and then put it in a container so i can just grab each one. 


This is how I stay on track when i'm traveling, visiting family, or visiting friends. You just pack your food and bring it with you. Super simple. It will change your life! 

My Favorite dish with this is to grab my chicken, sweet potato, peas, or sautéed spinach in coconut oil, and add a blue container of avocado and some hot sauce. Seriously Delish. It's great with Brown Rice too. It's like a Mexican bowl you could do a taco salad too with the ground turkey. So many ideas with it all prepped and ready to go. 



That's pretty much it! Turn up some tunes or put on your favorite movie and spend the next hour or two setting your week up for success! You got this ... You can totally do this! Your life will be CHANGED and you will feel amazing.

Final Week of PIYO - Meal Plan and Progress

Alright so I'm officially DONE with PIYO!! I'm sure you are wondering what I thought and what my results were. I have to admit that I wasn't super strict with my portions so I didn't get the results I hoped for but I will say that my core is SO much more stronger. My abs feel AMAZING!!

It's crazy to think how far I've come in my journey since just starting out 2 years ago. I've some so far and with each and every Beachbody program that I do, I get closer and closer to my goals. Of course once you get down to loosing the last few pounds it starts getting tougher. That's why I totally plan on getting back on it with the 21 day fix and getting my portions in check. I do plan on having a little pumpkin here and there after my strict 21 days but I will be mindful of my portions. Instead of gaining inches this holiday season i'm keeping what I got and loosing a few, too!! That's what I love about this whole thing. Is that whatever my goals are I can just pull a program off the self and
 ROCK IT OUT! I never have to second guess exactly what I should be eating, how much, or what workouts I should be doing. I have it all here and the support of my challenge groups!!

So this is what the workouts are this week. I decided to finish up on week 7 and get going with the 21 Day Fix since I have exactly 21 days until Beachbody Leadership in Scottsdale, AZ. Pretty excited to shape and tone up. I know the fix will do it. Piyo gave me great results and I loved doing it. I totally feel a difference but I just partial to the 21 day fix. Here is my meal plan that I used last week. Honestly is the only way a busy woman is going to stay on track. Whether you work full time, are a stay at home momma, or are just always on the go. You totally need to plan out your week for success. I even like to lay out my workout clothes ever night so I can just grab and go in the morning and get it knocked out. 

Planning is PLANNING FOR SUCCESS. Failure to PLAN is PLANNING FOR Failure! SO what's it going to be busy ladies!??!

I enjoyed this workout so much and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a low impact workout but AMAZING results.

Need a PASSION, JOB CHANGE, or LIFE CHANGE!?!?

Week 3 of T-25


YES, this is the face of a person who DRAGGED their butt out of bed at 5:30 am to get their BUTT kicked!! Totally wasn't excited this morning but I got it DONE SON! Loving the changes in my body! 




 This program is slowly getting DONE! I got sick during week two so had to redo that!! I want to make sure I get the best results so went ahead and re did week 2 and now i'm FINALLY on week 4!! WOOT WOOT! Almost to Beta Phase. The sickness has totally hit the Island and my kiddos have gotten it TWICE! But it's not stopping this Momma ... I'm getting it done. My challengers are seriously getting the most AMAZING results!!! I'm so proud of them! Some of my girls are getting numbers like 9lbs in 1 1/2 weeks! INSANE!! With only 25 minutes a day / 5 days a week!! It kicks your booty but in a good way. I really am getting the hang of it this week. Of course the workouts are still tough but i'm getting better and better each day. My challenge group is motivating me to BRING MY A GAME!!! 


I LOVE the Abs track on T-25!! Totally engages my core and I am starting to see some serious progress!! Hoping by the end of Bata phase those abs will be POPPING! 

I also came up with the most AMAZING meal this week ahhhh.... My new favorite and I could seriously eat it every single day if I had to!!! Really simple to make and I posted the recipe here

TRY IT! Sweet Potato hash browns with a fried egg and sautéed veggies!! AMAZEBALLS! 





This week in food was awesome!! I decided to experiment a little more, share more recipes, and mix it up a bit so I could stay on track and enjoy the food I was eating. It worked. LOVED it all! 

Here is my meal plan for Week 3. Got some new recipes on there from the undressed skeleton. Her recipes seriously ROCK! Love her website. Not all of her meals are 100% clean but most are pretty close! 


Rocked my meal plan this week and totally plan on posting the Kale Chips Recipe soon! SO good especially if you love chips and need something crunchy.

Monday - Total Body Circuit <----- SERIOUSLY KILLER
Tuesday - Speed 1.0 <--- My favorite 
Wednesday - Lower Focus <---- OMG my butt hurts thinking about it :)
Thursday - Cardio 
Friday - Ab Intervals WOOT WOOT & TurboKick Class. 
Saturday - I add this day in because I LOVE LOVE TurboKick and wouldn't ever plan on missing it. 
Sunday - REST/Church/Meal Prep 


Shakeology this week was the BOMB.COM! I seriously don't think I could function daily with out Shakeology. It gives me everything my body needs in one delicious glass. All natural nothing artificial and I don't have to spend a fortune getting all the goodies for my body and have it taste like CRAP! I mean have you tasted wheat grass BLAH! I'll stick with chocolate <3 Energy in a glass ... I have to hid in the bathroom to get my shakeology before my kids are asking me for drinks. 



Ahhhhh... Loving the results! I feel so great about myself and that seriously is the most important over all things. How you feel on the inside!! The way you speak and look at yourself. Nothing can replace the kind words and positive energy that is brought into your life when you feel 100% confident and beautiful. That's my hope to earn from this program above all and to give to others.

Coach Success Story - Sally Walker



I am absolutely so blessed to have Sally on my team as one of my coaches and friends. I met her through a mutual friend at a party and it wasn't until months later after talking Beachbody that we were able to connect. After one phone call of telling her how excited and passionate I am and was about this business she jumped on board, first as a challenger but almost immediately sure that this opportunity that came knocking on her door was 100% for her and something she had been passionate about for years. One of the main things that sticks in my mind that she told me is "I could hear the passion and love that you had for your job and the company that I knew that this was for me." This speaks TRUTH. I love my job, I love my team, and I love my coaches. She has become a friend that I cherish! 

Sally started her journey with Slim in Six and in only 4 weeks had amazing results. 

After having her own success in only 4 short weeks, she decided it was time to sign up as a coach and invite others to join her. She invited her neighbors to workout with her in her garage and called it the "sweat box". She had one neighbor join that was only running by and was inspired by her working out in her garage every morning! Seriously amazing how awesome you can connect with people just by inspiring and becoming like minded. She now works out every morning in her garage with these amazing friends that she has that also hold her accountable. 


Being a coach isn't about being in perfect shape, eating perfect all the time, or never making mistakes. It's about being a normal person that cares about other people and is looking to get in great shape, make friends along the way, and become a positive role model to others.

Tara lives in Kauai, Hawaii and I live in Oahu, Hawaii so we are in the same Time Zone and just happen to be on the same team in Beachbody, so we found a connection. While everyone slept in the mainland we brainstormed and built each other up. It's been amazing getting to know Tara over the last few months and it just goes to show you that Beachbody is able to give you this AMAZING connection with others who share this amazing experience with you. 

I am SO excited to share her story with you! It truly is an amazing transformation not only on the OUTSIDE but on the INSIDE too!!! 

Tara Started P90X after a scary emergency hospital visit. She was ready for a SERIOUS life change. At that moment she knew that the 90 day challenge would be the answer to all of the issues that she had in her life. She didn't let the excuses get in her way. She took all those excuses canned them and took that horrible experience and turned it in to a positive! She had NO idea what was in store from her the moment she said "YES!!" The picture above was Tara's 30 day Brazil Butt Lift Transformation but her story started long before this ... Tara started Brazil Butt Lift in January 2013 and this transformation was from January - February. She started at a size 6 - Her clothes were tight and she was in need of a program that would get her back in shape and tone. She went down to a size 2 in 30 days. Raised booty, slimmer legs, flatter tummy, and more definition.  

Going way back to where Tara Started is truly inspiring ... 

Tara: 
"Negativity surrounded my life, and I was depressed. After a long day at work, I would sit onthe couch, eat junk food, watch television, and barely move. I was sad, unconfident, had no energy, and was always asking myself, "Why am I alive?" One day eating bad fast food landed me in the hospital, on the verge of kidney failure, with the worst infection they’d ever seen. I was scared out of my mind. Fortunately my boyfriend took care of me, but when I got out of the hospital on his birthday, we couldn't celebrate the way we’d planned because I was hooked up to an IV. 

That changed my life forever. My boyfriend had already lost his mother, and I realized it scared him to see how sick I was. I decided that was the last day he would ever see me like that. I chose P90X 
because so many people were doing it and getting in the best shape of their lives.

The greatest challenge I faced was Pushing Play and sticking to the 90-day program. Being in a Challenge Group taught me what healthy eating was, and motivated me to work out. I felt if I didn't work out or eat healthy meals, then I would get kicked out of the group—even though that wasn't really the case. Logging in my workouts in the SuperGym made it easier to coordinate my daily plans, because then I knew which workout was next and how long it was. I liked that P90X switched the workouts constantly, using Muscle Confusion to get me the best results possible.

P90X took me from size 8 and 143 pounds to size 2 and 118 pounds, and completely changed my life. Now I’m proud to go shopping and wear my clothes with confidence—and without my belly showing! I am so positive and try to inspire others to live a healthier life in all aspects, including fitness, nutrition, goal setting, financial freedom, and motivation to attain their dreams. That’s why I became Beachbody Coach and created my team, Nutritious Fitness. I now have positive and supportive friends all over the country! Tara's Journey started with just 90 DAYS of P90X and then went on to 30 days of Brazil Butt Lift


Brazil Butt Lift is a 30 day program that is made to get you BIKINI READY!  The trainer Leandro Carvalho's is the trainer for the Victoria Secret Angles so you KNOW that he knows his stuff! It's amazing how much someone can change in only 30 days! It's quite mind blowing. You can workout all the time but with out the proper nutrition your results won't be the same. Tara stressed to me that she really worked on her nutrition. Before starting the program you choose your "booty shape" and then choose that workout plan to get YOUR body in the best shape. All in the comfort of your own home. Tara said that she did the Pear Shape Program. The workouts are anywhere from 30 mins to 55 min long workouts a day - It all depends on which program you choose for your "booty". Brazil Butt Lift has the most AMAZING ab workout called Tummy Tuck and it's seriously one of the hardest and BEST ab workouts you will ever do. The toning and sculpting workouts are awesome and will leave your body screaming for TRANSFORMATION. This program is definitely awesome for beginners or people that are just getting started in their fitness journey. The program is only 30 days long but offers awesome results. The Only Way to Truly Fail is to Quit Trying!!





I get so many people that I talk to daily that are SCARED to fail. Scared or starting another program and falling on their face - ONCE AGAIN! Wasting more money that isn't getting used .. Or starting something again only to leave them with disappointment. I'm here to tell you,
 IF YOU ARE SICK OF FAILING - STOP GIVING UP!!!! 

I also get the people that have to keep starting their program over and over again - But call themselves a failure. Well I'm here to clear that up .... YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE! Failing means you NEVER got back up and tried it again. As long as you keep TRYING you will NEVER EVER Fail! 

It's true ... have you ever heard the saying fall 7 times get up 8? It's TRUTH and WISE! 

I can't tell you how many times i've fallen straight on my face. If we want to be honest here I've been trying to get motivated to do Body Pump for months now. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT ... I never ever will give up. That makes me a winner. Of course I won't get the results as fast as I want and I won't have the feeling you get when you finish a program - at least not YET. I did TurboFire and It wasn't easy. 

I was moving all over the place while doing that program My husband is in the military and we were doing a move from Australia to Hawaii but i stuck with it. Sure, I had to redo some weeks. I had some cheats that I probably shouldn't of had ... but I DID it.. I never gave up and that is where the results came in. 


The best advice I can give to keep you getting back up is ...

1. Form a Habit! - Once you create exercising a habit it becomes a part of your daily life. It takes 21 days to form a habit. Keep up with it and never look back. Once you fall out of this habit it becomes MUCH harder to get back in the groove. TRUST ME! 

2. Reward yourself for DOING IT! You need to give yourself some credit for showing up to the gym or pressing play. Getting to that point is half the battle and once you are there - YOU ARE THERE! You can worry about the weight loss, or how many push-ups you can do, or how fast you want to run later. JUST GET THERE! 

3. Make your workout FUN! This is why I LOVE TurboFire. The music is out of this WORLD. SO MUCH FUN! "It's a party every time you push play." This is my soul mate workout and to me it's not a CHORE but something I LOVE doing! If you don't love what you are doing, it's going to be pretty hard to form a habit and keep up with it. Find something you love and stick with it. 

4. Schedule your workout time during a time that won't get in the way of other things! Working out needs to be done during a QUIET HOUR! If you plan your workout dab in the middle of the day it may be easily pushed aside from something you find more important. First thing in the morning or RIGHT after work are good places to slip your workout in before LIFE gets in the way. Find your time and make it NON NEGOTIABLE!!

5. Get an Accountability Buddy! Having someone that can join you, keep in contact with you, and motivate you will boost your commitment. Great way to stay on track and gain an awesome bond with someone.

6. X out your Workout Schedule. Placing an X on the calendar of the days you got your workout in will give you that visual that you need to PUMP YOU UP!

7. Create a daily routine. Make your workout a RITUAL! Make it something that is engrained in your mind. The same time everyday NO MATTER WHAT! It will become second nature to you and when that time comes up you will be running to the T.V. to press play or grabbing your workout bag to get to the gym. You will know that time is YOUR time to get the job done and nothing will get in it's way.

8. HABITS COME FIRST! People believe that buying a big fancy in home gym is just going to magically give them the will power and momentum needed to create a habit. Your habits must come FIRST before just going out and buying everything under the sun. This is why I LOVE the Beachbody challenge. You don't have to do it alone. My coach helped me through my WHOLE program. She helped me with all of the above and I didn't have to go out and buy a $1,000 treadmill or a 2,000 bow flex. NOPE! I bought my program and I created the habit with out needing the fancy gym equipment. All I needed was my good ol' TV (even a lap top would work) and my DVD player!

9. Start SMALL! Trying to go out and run a marathon on your first day is going to leave you SORE, TIRED, and feeling like a FAILURE! Don't start out so big. It takes MONTHS to build up to that point - Heck, sometimes a whole year! You don't want to scare your self away. Start out small and slowly build yourself up. You will be amazed at how far you come in 2,3 and 4 weeks down the road.



10. Most important of all ... DO IT FOR YOU & NEVER TO IMPRESS ANYONE! It won't justify you continuing and keeping up with it. If you exercise and eat healthy to gain energy, feel good about yourself, and have fun then it will be all the more reason to continue. 




NEVER quit trying and NEVER give up on yourself and you will always be a WINNER! The choices you make everyday good or bad are going to create your future either in a positive or negative way. Each little thing we do will eventually add up to the big picture. Are you going to make the right decisions no matter how small or big they may be or are you just going to give up? 

I believe you in you. I know you can do this. YOU ARE NOT A QUITTER. Repeat that after me. 
YOU ARE NOT A QUITTER! You may fall down a few more times but you WILL never give up.
